Expansion Series, Work No. 4 is a large-scale installation assembled with glass panels, stainless steel panels and projected light threads. The research behind this work is rooted in Modernism Architecture, which introduced light, column and spatial depth with industrial materials in order to heighten the inhabitant’s experience over ornamental construction. Created as a site-specific piece for virtual exhibition space for AORA IV, the work invites viewers to observe the rhythm of the light, the primary medium of Dori’s practice. This series investigates physical expansion of artificial light and the reflection in natural light, and how it triggers our perceptual experience of structure and architecture through organic interaction with modern industrial materials.
