Cloud (piano duo) was specifically designed as a response to AORA, calling the viewer to occupy a virtual space, exist with slow and carefully receptivity with no immediate payoff. Ian’s practice explores the transmission and translation of visual information, often mimicking digital methods of reproduction through labour intensive analogue processes. Ranging across sound, performance, and video, the artist’s work invites the viewer to contemplate how our receptivity of images in the digital sphere are dictated by speed and imminance.
