Katja Larsson
b.1987, in Sweden. Lives and works in London.
From the Greek word meaning breath of motion, life and spirit, a Pneuma is a thing that breathes. Katja Larsson’s forest of sculptures depicting driftwood and exhaust pipes comes alive in a series of counterpoise gestures. Katja explores the way these opposing materials are transformed into calcified bone-like relics, more similar than different, reaching for the light above.
