Jabulani Dhlamini is a documentary photographer who captures the stories that comprise collective memory in post apartheid South Africa. Through his nuanced lens, the artist champions lived experience over inherited memory. The four photographs that are on view feature various figures in media res, occupying often historic moments that define collective memory. Bodies in these photographs are all attestations of events taking place, emphasizing the importance of individuals in shaping and being shaped by various circumstances.
