Raheel’s work explores the notions of heritage within the inertia of cultural progression, creeping social phenomena around belief systems and economic divisions and over-simplified narratives driven from media, popular culture and hyper-commercialisation. Drawing on his past experiences working in finance, the artist became aware of the fact that cities are shaped by corporations rather than individuals. Created as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the artist now questions whether work spaces that populated the cities will disappear. If so, how will the soundscape of the city change?
