Cleft (2017) is a depiction of a fantastical dimension characterized by unity. Flora, fauna, and multiple species are representations of different nations that are in conflict. In this work, the hybridisation of the bodies of different animals and plants have a dual meaning. First, it reflects the unnatural state of the world and the new species that were engendered artificially. Also, it is the result of the artist’s desire to conjure an idealistic sphere where all elements are in unison.
