AORA open call finalist Amba Sayal-Bennett’s practice is based on rigorous research and experimentation into the agency of materiality. For the artist, the process of creation is a collaborative and constructive journey, an on-going process of human-material engagement and feedback. The work in her most recent exhibition, A Mechanised Thought, focused on instruments of measurement, systems created by the body working in conjunction with a material structure. In the series, the concert of these elements is expressed through the fusion of human and non-human material parts.
